P-Town , part two.

2018-42-12
Monet wannabe.

Provincetown is special … probably the most open gay town in the states, Deidre and I are the exception. Wonderfull accepting atmosphere , no weirdness , well some weirdness. Clothing wise , I feel right at home. Last year I shot some of the gayness of this town, meaning both meanings. it still is very open, very happy and incredibly beautiful.

for pictures just some beauty shots, nature and such. Tomorrow a long drawn out show of all the galleries at very early hour, out at 5 am this morning sun about to come up and thick fog rolling over the Atlantic dunes. sun , fog sun fog, for the next two hours until the sun won and burned up the fog and bathed P-town in its orange light .

It’s not easy being Green…..

a few miles north ,  or south, no west , ,maybe east is the small town of Truro, famed for Edward Hopper’s paintings and for the Truro winery and hollow spirits.

A quick visit to the winery , tour of the vineyard and barrel room and quick lobster roll in the yard. The day was shaping up to be pretty darn good.

The days are not complete here without a sunset watch on the beach, Beau is getting awesome at digging people traps( 2 feet deep holes, invisible to the eye when dark)

I found a bird skull, happy, and Deidre was just smiling from ear to ear the whole time . Happy. Beau is always happy!!🤪

Beau, Beach and Baguettes .

Hi I’m Beau,

2018-40-5
Dad, it wants me!!

once upon a time there was a dog named Beau, he was big, he was beautiful, he was very strong, he was loved , he was also a big chicken! The waves are trying to get me Dad. Beau was standing a safe 10 feet away of the rolling waves barking at the devils inside the foaming water. The waves took his rope , dug up from the sands of a 15 mile Long Beach where nothing showed to be hidden . He found the rope by mere smell , or luck!

The wave got his rope and Beau was mad ! His first day at the beach was spectacular, digging holes wherever you wanted, running from dad, as Dad was way too slow in the thick sand. This was the best place ever, …. if it wasn’t for those pesty wet foamy walls of water trying to get me. I stay away and frighten them with my bark. That will teach them, whom?, smooth ghosts of my former self seem to be floating just of shore, curiously peeking at me. Not me Buddy , I stay dry and with my Dad…. he’ll bring me to mam, where I really feel safe and special. I love camping !

2018-40-7
There’s my rope ! Found it fare and square!
2018-40-8
Im sandy and tired , take me home dad!

on the way back to mam, dad made me sit in the car with the window open, I was real tired but something kept me up, I stuck my modest nose out the window and the smells  of fresh bread , croissants’ and spun sugar nearly made me faint. I was sure dad is going to surprise me with this as I was so good and protected him from the devilish waves. O I can’t wait, but waiting I had to. The sun was high up in the sky when he finally came back and woke me from my well deserved beauty sleep. A large bag was brought in just out of my reach. At least that whet dad thought. I could have easily grabbed the bag and started on the almond croissants or white chocolate bread. But I wanted to have him feel good and give into me back home at the camper ( BTW, I have 2/3 of the camper to myself awesomeeeeeee!!!!!!)

Well I should have seen this coming , they, the mama and dad didn’t give me anything, they ate it all infront of me, and all I got was 2 crummy crumbs dad dropped  as he is shaking a bit lately. There !!!!

More Cape Cod mornings….

2018-39-20
7 am breaking wave.

I thought the bay side was nice, no early morning light there though, so up and checking out the Atlantic side. was I ever pleasantly surprised…. 80 feet high dunes looking out over the Atlantic, the mighty Eiffel Tower barely visible in world champion France and glowing bright. The waves rising up from the smooth blue green waters. seals peaking out over the surface looking for curiosities and maybe great white hunters.

kick their asses seals !!🤪

2018-38-18

Ok so this is one of those posts and the next one as well, where I’ll post mostly the same pictures, lots of them because I got a bit delirious with all the scenery around me . Got up pretty early , but not too early, just driving around, Found the Audubon society preserve by accident and spend 3 hours walking the trails, then down to the charming town of Wellfleet with its Cottages, artist studio’s and galleries. had another Lobster roll on the beach and sunburned, showered in our house on wheels. What a perfect day. Delicious Broccoli chicken mushroom on rice and white bottle of wine. Scary movie and early night.

Here we are.

See you tomorrow.

Nantucket Island …….

I visited once , long time ago, a lifetime ago , remember it fondly, this Nantucket though, the one in 2018, was different from my memories. larger, more touristy, but done in a tasteful way. The architecture is fabulous . The houses immaculate, well maintained and flower gardens in full glory. it truly is a small diamond in the rough Atlantic Ocean. one hour by fast boat, about 20-25 miles of-shore from Hyannus on Cape Cod, it’s larger sister , Martha’s Vineyard ,more famous as a place where presidents summer and relax, where Kennedies can still be found , at least their ghosts of glory days past.

Nantucket should be on every bucket, nantucket is where you would want to retire , Nantucket is perfect when the tourist become scarce and the seas become grey and wild .

The fog rolls in and makes it disappear, was it real or was it a wishful dream.

You decide,……

Orleans, cape Cod.

we loved being in Provincetown last year, so this year we put the Cape on the schedule for a few more days. Started at Sweetwater campground, close to Orleans, mid cape. Beautiful campground, rental car to do some sightseeing and a kennel for the dog so we can have a peaceful dinner. We’re bad right!

quaint country stores, beautiful food markets, rich seashore mansions and powerful boats . This is Kennedy territory and it feels like the charming 60’s photo’s of the Kennedy family at Hyannis oceanfront lawns , the brothers playing ball and Jackie with the kids . A special place .

Newport….

2018-35-39
Pool and baseball… and a Stella.

So last day in Newport, the Campground was very nice without having many amenities . no pool , store or the likes, but a great dog park, miss Bunny was the towns regular visitor to the park and maintenance woman, she was one of the founding members of the park and it was a beauty , tennis balls , frisbee’s toys and over two acres of running space. Nice plastic adirondack chairs for the people visitors, benches and a bit of shade. Separate park for the the little ogres .

New port is famous for it’s mansions, The Breakers being the most famous. Castles from a different era, railroad and other industry Barons build huge summer retreats on an 1/2 mile wide outcropping of the Rhode Island rocky shore. Very impressive but I didn’t really have time for a visit. I tried to sneak in one of them but didn’t get any further then the front door. Getting ready to go on our way to Cape Cod . Talk tomorrow.

one mile down the road from us, on Raytheon property is this huge red painted building .  The sign says , Newport Car Museum and great design. (Close) two things I’m really interested in. So 10 am it opens , Im there at 9:59, first in with camera’s and heavy bag. I get a personal quick tour about the layout and am on my own. I was encouraged to take pictures as long as I didn’t start the caRS … OR TOUCHED. so 75 of the most muscular, beautifully designed cars on display in 5 separate rooms, Named : Muscle, The Fins, Corvette, Mopar and Chevy /Ford.  This was a private collection of some extraordinary machines. From the latest Porsche Hybrid to older cars I had never heard of but were absolutely stunning. Examples will follow soon. After drooling ,shooting and admiration for two hours , I made my way out, maybe 15-20 visitors had joined me at that time. On my way out I met this nice older gentleman who asked me what I thought. I went on and on about how stylish, amazing and well thought out the place was. He was glowing and smiling from ear to ear. He owned the place and was so pleased someone saw the effort and idea that went into the collection.

I will start with a quote from the owners, pasted on the entry hall.

Rhode Island

enough of New York we decided to leave a day early and escape the extreme liveliness of the big city. Leaving Jersey City, finding I 95 and crossing the Bronx into Connecticut with an 8 foot wide 45 feet long behemoth is a bit hair raising . all went well though , bit of traffic thru CT, arrived at a beautiful spot five miles from Newport. Getting out into the cool clean air was definitely a big improvement over the dust and humidity of Jersey, But Jersey has bruce!.

Nice BBQ with sausages and potatoes, with broccoli on the open fire. we miss our son but the RV is ours , nice! Don’t read this Cayman, we love you !

Next day up , played with Beau at the awesome dog park and visited downtown for some first impressions.
