It’s not the same without the mama of my children, After an emotional week back home, out family is back together for a relaxing four days in Quebec. Last night I went after a waterfall I spotted in my rearview mirror upon arrival. That was a trip, climbed down a bunch of stairways to find the entrance to the bottom of the falls gated and locked. Not to worry, I climbed the fence and found a  buried sign saying that IF the horn sounded I had 30 minutes to get to higher ground as the valley floor would flood!. Looked like an old sign so not to worry. Climbed over rocks , debris, tree trunks, logs , huge boulders and sharp slate mixed with real hard granite . After 20 minutes I found my spot at the bottom of the falls , was it ever worth it, I had my tripod to take some long exposures and to use as a cane to keep my balance, well this didn’t work once and I fell in freezing water, fortunately my Camera was saved and the horn was still quiet. After an hour and a half I had what I came for and returned in pitch black. Not smart , but trusted iPhone flashlight to the rescue!. Made it dirty but happy, here are some of the results.

So after this nightly adventure, the next day we did some chores , like washing the stinky dog ,walking the dog, washing the comforter and finally it was time to take my best friend and spouse unit to town, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch of fruit and cheeses, capped off with some fried cheese and tomato soup. 2 different wines and we had a great time sitting in the window like Dutch Prostitutes! Quick walk thru a few streets in old town , quick rinse of our sins in the cathedral and back home for a rest. Temperature was in the 80’s and tourists were out and about. Did a quick scouting trip for sunrise pictures from across the river and found the spot. so more to come tomorrow.

Here are a few scouting pictures of the Big Ass castle on the hill, also called the The big Ass castle ! Frontenac, now it comes to me, impressive , big , its a hotel and only a few years old , kinda like Disney land but even more expensive. It towers over the city like an eagle over its nest.

After a long drive yesterday, took a quick stroll thru the old city to get an idea if it was all it was cracked up to be. As we are going to be here 5 days I wanted to keep the best for Deidre and I together. First impression was great , bit touristy but lots of photogenic spots and people, Got lucky with some kids playing in the fountain and tourists eating in the windows. Picked up Deidre from the airport today, very happy to have her back . Tomorrow first real sightseeing day! Enjoy a first taste of “LA QUEBEC”    he!

Oh yeah promised some splish splash, here are the superstars of water play!

Up at 5 this morning, folded up the lady and on the road at 6. The plan was to get about 150 miles from Quebec, Coffee was strong, roads bathing in the early light, and 0 traffic .

What a perfect day for a long drive. 50 minutes after departure we crossed the 8 mile long Confederation Bridge into New Brunswick , roads were clear, traffic light and we are on our way back to the mama!. Quebec being in another timezone is far away from the peaceful pastures of PEI about 1000 kilometers away. But driving the big bus is a breeze , cruise control at 65, the diesel pulls you up the hill as if it’s Florida. No sweat, so before we knew it we were halfway there before 11, Cayman was fast asleep in the back, coffee was still plenty after two stops and the road thru Canada was ours, At twelve I decided to drive to Quebec, called the campground booked the night, extended the car rental another day, and 3;15 we landed in the French city. Set up our luxurious camp , taxi to the airport and in the rental. Yoo-hoo freedom !
Now on a bad note, my leg is getting worse and might take 3 weeks to heal, its all shades of purple and red and burns. That what you get for crawling thru the bush for a good Picture. My first stop with the car was the emergency room where I was told that it would cost $1200.00 for  a doctor to look at it, wait time 6-8 hours….. EH!

No way, I went to a pharmacy got some more cream a, called Deidre , she emptied Walgreens , and I feel a lot better about Obamacare, $1200.00 Dollars NO EH….!!!!

So thats for the ugly part, now here are some Kittens, Jumpers and the sweetest Lamb on the planet!

Oh yeah , also got a lost space-shuttle and some real dinosaur bones , what a day!

Let me tell you….those Canadians have some spectacular weather eh. The other day I was having some dinner in Charlottetown , nice and peaceful until this crazy Canadian came and invited himself at my table. Now I value my time and  a few hours of peace and solitude is worth a lot. Recharges the Batt’s. But unfortunately, the wild looking, 2 toothed Man from Alberta and owner of a timeshare in Cabo and a Veteran and thrice divorced and one daughter of 16 and too much to talk about. All this is fine and I gave him my undivided friendly, insincere attention for all of 20 minutes . HE MUST HAVE ENDED AND STARTED EACH SENTENCE WITH EH,   EH,…. EH.EH EH EH EH EH EH EH . When the waitress came to take my plate I escaped and went inside to pay even though here in Canada they have these clever little machines at the table. No sir not an EH more I could take.

So bike ride …..for a dutch person this would be great , touch back to my roots and give the old mussels (pun) a good workout!  Hills are not friendly to bikers as are the Canadian roads. I made it 4-5 miles each way without getting of the bike, except to take some pics of the surroundings , super pretty. Tomorrow is a long travel day, and Tuesday arrival in Quebec City and back together with my Lovey..

Imagine Kate Upton with a gigantic Pimple on her nose, thats Cavendish. Let me explain; we are parked on a huge Campground consisting of 6-7 fields with each about 50 sites. the area around Cavendish is pristine, woods,Beautiful wide beaches, trails, golden fields of grain,Lakes, Dunes and smack in the middle of this are fun parks : horrendous, rollercoasters, waterslides, uncountable t shirt shops and the “boardwalk” Souvenir shops ,fast food places and more so called entertainment. This is the land of “Anne of Green Gables”Hmmm, not too familiar with her but I bet she never played PutPut or rode the rollercoaster. Pass this strip of bad taste and continue on one of the prettiest Islands in North America.

So Kate, squeeze the pimple and fix it, eh!

It was supposed to rain and be cold today, cloudy yes cold no , sun is coming thru now and we just had some schnitzel and spicy sausage from the Barbecue.We miss Deidre a lot but know she is where she needs to be. She’ll be back on Tuesday for two last two weeks. Tomorrow is cayman’s Birthday , 15 years gone by in no time. They grow up too fast. He is a good guy with a passion and a tough dad. My goal is to let him loose a bit more if I can.

So……. big day in travel land. Cant tell you why , but it is, Cayman and I mounted our bike and scaled the highest mountain in New Brunswick , biking and walking with the bike but we were rewarded with an amazing view of the Flowerpot rocks surrounded by 1000 happy snapping tourists. wow can’t believe my luck day 1 with no one there. busier then Disney land today. After that we had some Nice Hot Moose Wings with sweet potato fries. Yam!

Quiet afternoon with Beau and the geese . So….are two Moose, Meese like Goose and Geese?
